The CBSE Board is currently
preparing the results of nearly 20 lakh students who appeared for the
10th (1180081 students) and 12th (815537 students) class examination in
the month of March 2012.
The CBSE Board had conducted the 10th class examination from 1 March
2012. The CBSE Board 10th class examination was completed by 26 March
2012.
The Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE) Board introduced Continuous and Comprehensive
Evaluation (CCE) for the first time in 2011. A candidate who has passed
the Secondary School Examination under the CCE shall be issued
Certificate of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation indicating the
grades obtained in the subjects under Scholastic Area A and grades
obtained in the subjects under Scholastic Area B and Co-scholastic
Areas.

the Government of India in 1929 as a joint Board named ‘Board of High
School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana’. This included Ajmer,
Merwara, Central India and Gwalior. Later it was confined to Ajmer,
Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it became the ‘Central Board of
Secondary Education’. The CBSE Board was reconstituted in 1962 with 309
schools under its jurisdiction.
The CBSE Board presently
affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private
schools, Government Schools, Independent Schools and Central Tibetean
Schools.
In order to execute its functions effectively Regional Offices were set
up by the CBSE Board in Allahabad, Ajmer, Chennai, Guwahati, Panchkula,
and Delhi. Schools located outside India are looked after by regional
office Delhi.
